In IRIS, there is a section that a faculty or staff would need to fill in additional personal information.

Below are a information a faculty would need to update to complete a CV generation.

7. Research Areas
8. Date of CV Update

In additional there are other information that will help the publication module integrates better with other 3rd party services

1. ORCID ID
2. Researcher ID
3. Google Scholar URL
4. Scopus ID

To access the personal detail forms, go to Dashboard using the above link and click the "Edit" link beside your name as shown below

Once you in the Personal Editing Section, you will see 3 tabs

1. Key Information - contains the form fields to manage personal information
2. Business Cards -  contains all the SMU appointments in form of business cards (not required any editorial purpose)
3. Research Profile - contains the form fields to manage research information

Under the Key Information Tab, please update the following

Profile Picture

The profile picture will be used on the dashboard and in the generated CV document.

The image can be uploaded under the "Key Information" Tab (about the 3/4 of the form page).

It is recommended to upload the profile picture of 120px X 145px in common photo file extension/format (*.png, *.gif, *.jpg)

Teaching Areas

This field is where a faculty can insert his main teaching areas. This can be in list point form or paragraph.

The maximum character limit is 4096. But it is recommended for this section within 1 paragraph ~500 characters.

Capsule Biography

This field is where a faculty can insert his capsule biography.

The maximum character limit is 4096 about 1½ page of a A4 print out.

The same field is used for the capsule biography CV template.

Skill Set

This field is where a faculty can insert his skill set. This can be in list point form or paragraph.

The maximum character limit is 4096. But it is recommended for this section within 1 paragraph ~500 characters.

Phone

This field is where a faculty can insert his SMU office number.

Under the "Research Profile" Tab, Please update the following

Research Interest

This field under the "Key Information" tab is where a faculty can insert his main research interest in particular topics. This can be in list point form or paragraph.

The maximum character limit is 4096. But it is recommended for this section within 1 paragraph ~500 characters.

Research Areas

This field under the "Key Information" tab is where a faculty can insert his main research areas. This can be in list point form or paragraph.

The maximum character limit is 4096. But it is recommended for this section within 1 paragraph ~500 characters.

Date of CV Update

The CV date of update is the date shown on the Top Right Header of the Generated CV. This field defines the date which the faculty wants the information in the generated CV to be based upon.   This field does not necessary suggest the last editorial activities in the system carried out by the faculty. At this point of documentation, the field is setup manually so that the faculty can decide the actual date for genuine record updates; rather than leaving it to the system to capture all editorial activities including the minor ones or those records created in drafting mode.
