Challenge #2 Struggling with academic writing

Embrace a growth mindset:

This is an opportunity for me to seek writing resources and techniques and practice regularly to enhance my skills.”

Adopt this two-step strategy:

  1. Plan and organize
Understand the assignment requirements thoroughly and break the writing process into smaller, manageable steps: Brainstorming, outlining, researching, drafting, referencing and revising.
  2. Write and refine
Use clear and persuasive language, support arguments with credible evidence, and carefully review and revise your work. Study or refer to examples of well-written academic papers - this can be really helpful. Seek feedback from professors, teaching assistants (TAs), Communication Coaches, or friends.
