The historical journey of the Nation of Brunei Darussalam (518-2019) -- from its possible earliest historical mention in the 6th century, the accession of Awang Alak Betatar, its golden age under Sultan Bolkiah, the civil war times, the arrival of James Brooke, the British protectorate age, until it finally regained its independence and became one of the richest country in the world.

Brunei Delicacies

Chop Jing Chew

Located in Central Gadong. This restaurant has a very long history and is Brunei's nations pride. Delicious bread and buns made fresh daily and lot’s of variety of dishes to savour.

Lee Loi Fatt

Lee Loi Fatt has a long history in Brunei - serving great rojak, deep fried fritters dipped with rojak sauce, fried chicken wings, laksa and signature iced drinks like ABC or Cendol.

Panggang

Panggang is rice rolls stuffed with a paste of shrimp of beef. The paste isn’t too spicy. The rolls are covered in a leaf and then steamed. They are bite sized but boy a couple of them will fill you up like a whole meal!

Nasi Lemak

It is very common to find Malaysia’s national dish, the Nasi Lemak wrapped in small bundles for sale in the Bruneian eateries. This fragrant dish comes with rice that is cooked in coconut milk instead of water and is accompanied by fried chicken, cucumber peanuts and sambal.

Teh Tarik

Teh Tarik is a tea that if you search will translate into ‘pulled tea’.  Teh Tarik is tea that is poured back an forth from two vessels at a height giving it a frothy texture. One interesting thing is that this tea is made of condensed milk and is usually quite sweet.

Roti Kuning

Roti kuning is a breakfast food unique to Brunei. Two fluffy buns surround a center filled with cheese, meat, and a choice of kawhin (usually some sweet mixture of coconut milk, jam, sugar and butter).
