SMU Research Data Repository (RDR) User Guide

Instructions and guidelines on how to use the SMU Research Data Repository.

Get Started

Visit researchdata.smu.edu.sg. At the homepage, click on ‘Log in’ at the top right of the screen. Log in with your SMU account.

SMU RDR is a service available to all faculty (except adjunct faculty), staff, PhD students and master students by research. If you think you should have access but are encountering issues, please contact library@smu.edu.sg.

Undergraduate students or master students by coursework may be given access on an ad-hoc basis subject to review. Alternatively, you may want to consider applying for a free account on figshare.com.

After logging in, click on your name/initials located at the top right of the page, then click on 'Profile'. You will see the following option.

CONNECT and enable syncing with your ORCID

Follow the prompts to login to your ORCID. Once connected, public records from your account will be synced to ORCID.

After logging in, click on your name/initials located at the top right of the page, then click on 'Applications'. You will see the app integration page.

Click on 'Connect' and follow the prompts to authorize Figshare to access your GitHub. Once completed, go to My Data and click on the GitHub icon (next to "Create a new item")

You can then start importing from GitHub from your list of public repositories:

See this page for more information on how GitHub records can be automatically synced with your SMU RDR.
