The focus of Map Collections is Americana and Cartographic Treasures of the Library of Congress. These images were created from maps and atlases and, in general, are restricted to items that are not covered by copyright protection.

A collection of more than 150,000 maps, focused on rare 16th through 21st century maps of North and South America, as well as maps of the World, Asia, Africa, Europe, and Oceania. Maps are free to use, but not for commercial purposes. Learn more about copyright in 'About' section of website.

One of the oldest and largest collections of cartographic materials in the United States with over 500,000 items. Resources range from 16th century globes to modern maps and geographic information systems (GIS) layers.

Map collection is global in scope, dating from the 15th century to the present, with a particular strength in maps and atlases from the U.S. New England region, American Revolutionary War period, nautical charts, and world urban centers. The website includes more than 7,700 digitized maps suitable for educational use.

More than 70,000 map images from the University of Texas at Austin's printed collection. Most images are free of copyright and are in the public domain.
