eAccess Troubleshooting Guide: Financial Times (FT)

A guide to provide some tips and tricks to handle the common eAccess issues encountered.

Issues and Interventions

User is not able to register for a new account. The following message is showing.

 

Usually this will happen when a user makes the following mistakes:

  • using non-SMU email address such as gmail or yahoo
  • typo error when using SMU email address
  • click "Sign In" instead of fill in the details to create a personal account

Check email address again. If SMU email address is still not accepted, please drop an email to libser@smu.edu.sg for help.

 

Registration of account for NYT

Users encounter issues registering for an account on FT.

This usually happens when user is trying to register for an account on FT website directly, rather than from the library's A-Z page.

Go to database A-Z page, look under Financial Times and register for an account using the link provided.
