Usually this will happen when a user makes the following mistakes:
Check email address again. If SMU email address is still not accepted, please drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org for help.

This usually happens when user is trying to register for an account on FT website directly, rather than from the library's A-Z page.
Go to database A-Z page, look under Financial Times and register for an account using the link provided.
