eAccess Troubleshooting Guide: O'Reilly Safari

A guide to provide some tips and tricks to handle the common eAccess issues encountered.

How to access O'Reilly?

From A-Z Database, look under "O’Reilly Safari for Higher Education" and click onto the title.

You will see the following screen. Select "Institution not listed?" as shown.

Next, you will see the following screen. Enter your SMU email address into the box and click "Let's Go" will do.

User entered SMU email and received this message: "This email address belongs to an existing user, please click link below to log in."

Usually happens when you have a personal account with O'Reilly. This only applies to old users who had registered before 2022 or users who had paid account.

Select "Already a user?", then enter your SMU email address and password will do.

Not able to find "SMU" under the drop-down list

Please select "Institution not listed?" as shown. On the following page, just enter the complete SMU email address and click "Let's Go" will do.
