Introduction
Bloomberg provides real-time and historical pricing, indicative and fundamental data, charts and graphs on various topics, customized analytics, company and industry news, economic data, statistics, and estimates.
Use this database to obtain global financial and business information on various market sectors, including equities, indices, corporate debts, sovereign and agency securities, commodities, futures, options, hedge funds, foreign currencies, etc.
Bloomberg is accessible on campus only. Four Bloomberg terminals are available on Level 3 at the Li Ka Shing Library. Book a terminal (except Terminal 4) using the Facilities Booking System. Each user is allowed a one-hour booking per day during term time.
Getting Started

To get started, try the following suggestions:
1) Logging into Bloomberg
To log in, double click the green "Bloomberg" icon on the desktop, then press Enter or <GO> to begin. The Bloomberg Login Name and Password for the terminal that you are using are available here.
2) Watching Bloomberg "Getting Started" video
Upon login, Bloomberg opens four windows. Select a window, then type BESS <GO> and click Getting Started under Bloomberg Core Videos. Remember to bring your own handset to listen to the video.
3) Referring to the Bloomberg "Getting Started" cheatsheet
This cheatsheet provides basic instructions on how to navigate Bloomberg.
4) Using the subsequent pages of this guide to learn Bloomberg
Each page focuses on different market sectors with links to relevant cheatsheets and essentials function codes.
