Legal Research & Writing (LAW 106): How do I note up UK cases?

Noting Up with JustCite

Go to Lawnet > Premium, and use the JustCite search box available.

E.g. Note-up Beswick v Beswick [1966] 3 WLR 396

Enter the case citation or the case name into the search box.

Once you have located the relevant case,  click on the link to Subsequent Cases found on the left side of the screen. This will give you a list of subsequent UK cases that have cited Beswick and how it was treated in those cases. JustCite will also provide a list of subsequent cases in selected  Commonwealth jurisdictions. 

JustCite is useful as it also provides you with a list of parallel citations for the case, catchwords, Cases Judicially considered, Subsequent Cases that cited Beswick v Beswick and a list of journal articles relevant to the case.
